Harvest the first pears of the season with this prized variety originating from Bulgaria. Produces large, attractive fruits that ripen in mid to late July - a full month ahead of Bartlett. Pears have a buttery-textured flesh with a delicious sweet flavor and are yellow blushed with red. Mature trees grow 12 to 15 ft tall. Begin harvesting about 2 to 4 years after planting. Cross-pollination with another pear is recommended. Highly disease resistant. Very vigorous and productive. Cross-pollination required. We recommend Bartlett. Zones 4-7.
