Carrot Seeds

Carrot seeds can be sowed as soon as the soil can be worked, however, like many vegetable seeds, carrot seeds will germinate quicker in warm soils than in cold soils. For this reason, many growers have found that sowing carrot seeds in soil with 60°-70°F temps. yields better germination. Sow carrot seeds 1/4" deep, with about 3 seeds to the inch. Then thin to 2-3 in. apart. Plant every 2 weeks for a continuous supply until it gets too hot. Avoid planting carrot seeds too early or too late to prevent plants from bolting.
