(cv. Nikitskiy 2240) This variety bears later in the season with an abundance of high-quality soft-shelled nuts. Grow nutritious, soft-shelled almonds even in cold areas with these hardy varieties from Ukraine. Blooms late, about the same time as peaches, helping them avoid damage from late hard frosts. Bears profuse, pinkish-white fragrant flowers in spring. Harvest in September and use for fresh eating, roasting, and baking. Mature trees are 15 to 20 feet tall. Trees begin bearing about 3 years after planting. Zones: 5-8.
While somewhat self-fertile, for best nut production, we recommend planting with Oracle™.
