Monarch populations have been in decline for a number of years due to the loss of nectar sources and milkweeds. The native wildflowers, garden flowers, and milkweeds in this mix provide nectar sources for adult monarchs. Milkweeds are used for egg laying and to provide food for monarch caterpillars. Plant 8 ounces per 1,000 square feet or 12-24 pounds per acre. Please note: If spring-sowing, some perennial components may not germinate until the following year, as they require cold stratification. For fall seeding, plant in October or November after a couple of hard freezes and the soil temperature is below 50°F.

This mix includes: Purple Coneflower (15.82%), Annual Candytuft (13.40%), 'Imperial Mix' Rocket Larkspur (12.35%), 'Dahlia Flowered Mix' Zinnia (12.00%), Wallflower (9.00%), Gayfeather (7.09%), 'Bright Lights Mix' Sulpher Cosmos (5.52%), 'Sensation Mix' Cosmos (5.16%), Hoary Vervain (4.60%), 'Dainty Marietta' French Marigold (4.36%), Mexican Sunflower (4.00%), Indian Blanket (3.63%), Smooth Aster (2.79%) and Butterfly Milkweed (0.28%).
