'Maliner Kren' is the standard variety for condiment use. Planting these crowns will give you a jump start with your horseradish crop over planting roots. Grows vigorously and produces large white roots. Does best in cool, moist fertile soil. Horseradish is a perennial, but many gardeners replant every 3 to 5 years, as old roots tend to get woody.
