Improved butternut-type with better uniformity, larger yields and richer flavor. Rich, orange flesh is solid and dry, with a light texture and an excellent flavor. Fruits average about 9 to 10 in. long and 4 to 5 in. wide. A good keeper. Vigorous vining type. 88 days.

The best winter squash
Aug 3, 2025  |  By Mark
Sometimes my pumpkins and Hubbard squash look good, but have large cavities and very little meat inside. These Waltham Butternut are always meaty and sweet when fully ripe. They got a little too much rain this year, but I'll be planting them again next year.
