Traditional favorite for 12 to 15 pound Halloween pumpkins, and there is likely more of it grown commercially than any other variety. Well established as the model for Jack-'O-Lanterns, the flesh is extra-thick, and Howden is less likely to produce lop-sided pumpkins. The hard skin is ridged, dark orange and will keep for a long time.
