A true heirloom butterhead lettuce from the Southern Dutch Isles. Gustav, a local, developed his own strain of melt-in-your-mouth butterhead lettuce. He proudly rode his bicycle all over the village delivering his popular produce. He let some of his lettuce mature for seed for the next year and continued growing it for more than 40 years.
