Sweeter, milder flavor than regular cabbage and easier to grow. Serve it like lettuce in salads, simmered in butter-sauce or added to stir-fries. Tall cylindrical heads average about 12 in. high by 4 in. wide. Outer leaves are medium-green blanched to creamy white on the interior. Has delightful crispy texture like celery, but more tender. Flavor is sweet, pleasant, and slightly spicy. Plant early for summer harvest or in July for fall. Not for long-term storage.
