Odd-shaped fruits turn from light green to brown with creamy custard-like texture and delicious sweet banana-like flavor. An interesting ornamental native fruit tree with pyramidal shape. Slow growing, finally reaching 20 to 25 ft. Can be kept smaller if pruned. Has large 12-inch tropical looking leaves. Fruits can be as large as 1 pound, ripen in September and are high in protein, Vitamins A and C. Prefers moist, slightly acidic soil and shade to partial shade. Plant two trees for proper pollination. We offer well-rooted, small potted trees.
