400 year old apple was brought to the "New World" by the French. Often called the Snow Apple, it is known for its tender, aromatic, spicy flavored, snow-white flesh (thus the nickname) that is often streaked or stained red making the white flesh seem white as snow. The skin color is brilliant solid red. Fruit stores well. Fameuse trees are hardy and productive with some resistance to apple scab. Ripens in September.
