Yes, this is the original strain, from the Alfreys! We reintroduced this ornery old heirloom several years ago and the demand for it has remained high. Grown as much to shock the prudish as for their culinary value. The pods are 4 to 6 inches long, blunt-ended, and mature to deep red. Excellent for chili powder.
