An old-time heirloom producing fruits that are ivory white in color from the time they begin to form until they mature. Excellent for slicing or as a pickler. Skin is smooth and very thin. Quality fruits are best harvested at 4-5-inch size, but fruits can grow to a nice size, of 7-8 in. long by 3 in. wide, with rounded ends. Flesh is solid and crisp, with excellent eating quality. Black spines. Over-ripe fruits can turn orange and warty.
