Roma is considered to be the most well-known paste-type tomato, perfect for sauces, pastes and ketchup. Its heavy crops of bright red, pear-shaped fruits are nice and meaty, with very few seeds.

I had 64 tomato plants this year. 40 were Rutgers and 24 were a mix of Amish paste and roma. I planted in a compost and horse manure mix and I ended with 225 gallons of tomatoes (45 5 gallon buckets). I sprayed for bugs once, and applied magnesium once and calcium twice. Beyond that, I didn't address any additional fertilizer needs. Remarkable plants with thick full vines the thickness of a 50 cent piece.
