Prefers cool weather. Best grown in the early spring or late fall. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep, 2 to 3 inches apart, in rows 18 to 24 inches apart. Germinates in 1 to 2 weeks. Thin seedlings to stand 6 to 8 inches apart in the row. Excellent for winter storage. Store in a cool cellar or pit. A packet sows 60 feet of row. One ounce sows 250 feet.
