Does best in cool weather. As soon as the soil can be worked, sow seed 2 to 3 inches apart in rows 12 to 15 inches apart. Sow 1/2 inch deep. Thin seedlings to about 4 to 6 inches apart. Sow again 2 months before usual date of first hard frost for fall crop. Frost improves flavor. A packet plants about 50 feet of row. One ounce plants about 200 feet of row.
