Sow in flats 6 to 8 weeks prior to transplanting outdoors. Tomato seed will not germinate in cool soil. Be sure soil temperature is at least 75 degrees F. Plant seed 1/4 inch deep. When plants are 1-1/2 inches high, transplant into Jiffy pots. Transplant outdoors 3 to 4 feet apart only when night time temperature stays above 45 degrees F. Maturity dates are from date of outdoor transplanting. One ounce produces 1,000 plants.
